Warranty Information

Cardinal Homes Limited offers a One Year Builder Warranty, on any defects in your home.


For Example:

  • Cardinal Homes Limited will have a subcontractor plaster any nail pops in your home after one year. Note: No re-painting is completed.
  • Items such as leaks, shingles lifting, electrical or plumbing issues, e.t.c.


The following items are examples of what is not covered by the warranty:

  • Defects in materials, appliances, design and workmanship supplied by the purchaser
  • Surface defects in workmanship or materials already apparent and accepted by the purchaser at the date of possession
  • Defects arising from improper maintenance on the part of the purchaser
  • Damage caused by dampness or condensation resulting from improper maintenance or the homeowner’s failure to maintain proper ventilation levels and proper use of the HRV system
  • Detached patios, garages and driveways
  • Painting
  • Grass and settling soil around the house and along utility lines
  • Normal shrinkage of materials that dry out after construction


Installed in your home are a minimum 25 year Warranty Shingles and Kento Windows with a life time Warranty*. For warranty on items such as flooring and cabinets, this would vary based upon your selections*. For clarification on these warranties you must contact the supplier to confirm.

In your Cardinal Homes Limited Home Owner Manual, given at the time of possession, we provide you with a form (see pages 34/35) which should be forwarded to our office at the 10th month of occupancy; list any defects that need repair in your home. We will review this list and we’ll then set up a time during working hours to complete any repairs. (Monday- Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am to 4:00 pm). We will try to have all work completed by the end of your first year, however depending on the time of year, because of labor shortages (i.e. summer holidays and busy schedules) we may run over the one year time.
